Lo que esconde el sol marks the beginning of a new chapter for Diciembre Veintinueve, unveiling the brand’s first swimwear collection. This debut line draws deep inspiration from the piece that first captured the world’s attention: the iconic Sontse Necklace.
This collection is a poetic interpretation of the sunset, not merely as a time of day, but as a symbol of presence, emotion, and transformation. Each swimsuit channels the magic of sunset places: golden corners of the world where we feel most alive, where the sun’s last light reflects our inner glow.
Sunset beings are those whose warmth guides, whose presence soothes, and whose light never dims, even when the skygrows dark. They shine in ways that illuminate others, embodying the calm, strength, and radiance this collection celebrates.

A NEW ERA OF D29
As the first-ever D29 Swim collection, we knew the print had to reflect the depth of our love for the sun. Lo que esconde el sol sets the tone for this new chapter. Just like the sunset, seen from every corner of the earth, the sun offers us a different masterpiece each day, no matter who or where we are. This print is our way of capturing that gift: a visual expression of what a sunset holds within: the colors, the people, the places, and the fleeting moments that make life extraordinary. We invite you to look closely and discover what hides within a D29 sunset!
Sunset Places
Sunset places can be described as magical spaces where time seems to stand still, bathed in a warm light full of serenity.
They’re places that evoke a deep sense of familiarity and immeasurable joy, the places where the purest light within us is
free to shine.
Inspired by Gabriela’s childhood home in Carolina, represented by the map of the municipality, the route to her grandmother’s house, and the official Pantone color called Puerto Rico Sunshine, which symbolized home.
Sunset Beings
Sunset beings are a presence of warmth and guidance, people whose energy leaves an impact, evoking peace and a sense of safety. They are the ones who, even as they shine, amplify our own light, and in moments of darkness, offer us every last ray of the sun.
Represented by her father’s drawings, small suns created by close friends, and the color and shape of her puppy Sansa’s eyes.
Sunset Moments
Sunset moments are fleeting flashes of joy that become foundational memories. Though brief, they stir emotions that are both comforting and bittersweet. These are the moments we often return to when we feel low and need a breath of warmth, or the ones that come to mind when nostalgia sets in. They're the days that weren’t always planned, that may have seemed imperfect, yet somehow held just the right amount of light to keep us hopeful for what’s to come.
Represented by seashells that are exact replicas of those found by Gabriela and her father during beach days; the Tiffany pattern from her grandmother’s stained-glass lamp, evoking time shared with family; and silhouette cutouts from a photo of her and her friends, capturing moments of joy together.
